Speed limiter and Vmax removal, on your driveway.
Many cars and vans leave the factory with a top-speed limit set in the engine software, and some vans carry a lower speed limiter on top. We can raise or remove it in the software, where the ECU allows it, often in the same visit as a remap. Put your registration in to get a quote.

What a speed limiter or Vmax change actually is
A number in the software
Vmax is the top speed the engine software allows. Many cars have one set at the factory, and some vans have a lower speed limiter as well, fitted by the factory or set for a fleet. It's a value in the ECU, so it can be raised or removed in the software, where the ECU allows it.
Vans, restricted cars, remap customers
Van owners with a fleet or factory limiter, cars with a restricted top speed, and anyone having a remap who wants the limiter changed in the same visit.
One visit, one file
If you're having the engine remapped anyway, the limiter change goes into the same file, so there's no second appointment. Performance tuning is here and economy remapping is here.

Speed limiter and Vmax removal, the questions we get asked
Is it reversible?
Yes. We keep a copy of your original file, so the car can go back exactly as it was.
Can it be done with a remap?
Yes. If you're having the engine remapped, the limiter change goes into the same file in the same visit.
Does it affect my warranty or insurance?
A change to the engine software can affect a manufacturer warranty on the engine and drivetrain, and it must be declared to your insurer. The full warranty answer is here.
Backed by JF Automotive
Remaps UK is the mobile arm of JF Automotive, a Maidstone workshop that has been tuning cars for thirty years. The files, the calibration work and the rolling road behind your job are theirs. If a job turns out to need a ramp or a dyno session rather than a driveway, it goes to them, and you are not passed to a stranger.
