3.0TDI Bosch MD1CS014 ECU

Audi and Volkswagen 3.0 TDI engines built from July 2020 use a Bosch MD1CS014 ECU, and until this release we couldn't reach them. A new Autotuner protocol reads and writes them through the diagnostic (OBD) port, so the ECU stays in the car.

One catch. Some of these ECUs have a newer bootloader that can't be reprogrammed yet. Part number 059 907 309 AG with software H80 is one of them.

What the release does

• Reads and writes the engine ECU through the OBD port (Autotuner lists it as OBD VR, TC299).
• The first write unlocks the ECU and takes about 7 minutes. After that a write takes about 2.
• Checksums are corrected automatically, and the original software can be put back.

Which cars

Audi 3.0 TDI EU6, the 45 TDI and 50 TDI (both 3.0), and the Volkswagen 3.0 TDI EU6. Autotuner may add more as the protocol is updated.
